The numbers of vacancies indicated above against each SIB are provisional and liable to change. The posts are temporary but likely to continue indefinitely.
Scale of pay: Rs. 5200-20200/- and Grade pay Rs. 2000/- plus allowances at
Central Govt. rates.
Age: Not exceeding 27 years as on closing date of application. Upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC, Ex-Serviceman as per Government of India rules. Also relaxable for departmental candidates up to 40 years in accordance with the instructions/orders issued by the Central Government from time to time.
Eligibility Conditions:
(A) Essential: (i)- Matriculation(Class X) or equivalent from a recognized Board.
(ii)- Knowledge of local language/Dialect as specified above against
each SIBx/centres of examination.
(B) Desirable: Field Experience in intelligence work.
Note:- The candidates need to indicate the SIB/Centre against whose vacancies they are applying based on their knowledge of Local Language/Dialect as specified in table ‘A’ above.
Knowledge of Local Language/Dialect:- Candidates applying for the vacancies of a SIB are required to possess adequate knowledge of the Local Language/Dialect indicated against it (the SIB). They should be able to read, write and speak that Language/Dialect.
Selection of Candidates: The candidates who come up to a specific standard following a preliminary screening of applications based on knowledge of the local language(s) of the SIBx/Centre concerned, academic qualification, marks obtained in the examinations and depending upon the number of vacancies, would be called for an Objective Type test on General Knowledge, Current awareness, aptitude, reasoning, general arithmetic and English of 100 marks to be held at the respective centres of examination where the candidate have applied for. Those candidates who meet specific standard in the objective type test will be further called for local language test (50 marks) and personality test (50 marks).
The Objective type would be held on a common day for all the centres of examination and hence the candidates should apply for the vacancies of a SIB, depending upon their knowledge of the local Language/Dialect mentioned against it in table ‘A’ above. Application submitted for more than one SIBx/Centre would be rejected.
Liability of Service: Selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India in public interest.
Centre of Examination will not be changed under any circumstances. Applications received for more than one Examination Centre from a candidate would be rejected.
How to apply:- (i)- Applications can be submitted only through ON-LINE registration mode. The candidates should log on to www.mha.nic.in. Applications sent by any other mode will not be accepted. Wrong information in any column may lead to the application getting rejected altogether.
(ii)- On submission and acceptance of application, the system will generate an Application Registration No and it will appear on the Registration Slip generated on the system.
(iii)- The candidates required to take the print out of this Registration Slip for all future reference.
(iv)- Candidates are required to possess a valid e-mail ID which is to be entered in the application form at the time of ON-LINE registration. In addition to this the candidate must furnish one mobile number in the column provided in the application form to enable us to give SMS alert about the downloading of the admit card for written examination and interview.
(v)- This office will not be responsible for bouncing of any e-mail or malfunctioning of the mobile phone number given by the candidate.
(vi)- Necessary information regarding written examination, interview and downloading of admit cards will also be hosted on the website www.mha.nic.in.
(vii)- The candidate has to fill in one of the Examination Centres from 13 centre given in the table A above for the written examination in the application form.
Closing Date:- One month from the date of publishing in the Employment News.
General Instructions:
(I)- Candidates must ensure before applying for the post that he/she is eligible in terms of age, educational qualification and knowledge of Local Language etc. as laid down in the advertisement. As no testimonials are called for at the submission stage, the admission to the written examination would be provisional of all the candidates. If the information furnished by the candidate while submitting application is found to be incorrect at a later date, the candidate himself/herself will be solely responsible and his/her services are liable to be terminated at any time during his/her service.
(II) Candidates are advised to furnish correct information regarding their age (as per Matriculation certificate), educational qualification and caste/category (i.e. SC/ST/OBC) in the application form. The candidate qualifying in the Objective Type Test would be required to produce relevant certificates in support of their claim at the time of interview.
(III) SC/ST/OBC candidates should fill up their respective category in the relevant Column of the application form carefully. It may be made clear that category once mentioned in the form shall not be changed under any circumstances and candidate will have to produce caste certificate in original in the prescribed format issued by the Competent Authority in support of his/her claim as and when it is asked for.
(IV) No TA or other expenses will be admissible to the candidates for appearing in the test/interview except to unemployed SC/ST candidates who will be reimbursed the fares as admissible under the Rules. No cash payment will be made
at the time of test or interview.
(V) Candidates claiming benefit of OBC Category must ensure that they belong to OBC Category as per the notification meant for appointment to the posts under the Government of India (not as per the notification of State Government) and do not come under the creamy layer. The proforma for OBC certificate and declaration undertaking meant for appointment in Government of India is given at Appendix-II and no other proforma will be accepted in any case. If any candidate qualifies in the written test he/she will have to produce the original OBC certificate at the time of test of knowledge of local language and interview. In case the candidate fails to submit the valid certificate from the Competent Authority, he/she will not be allowed to appear in the test of knowledge of local language/interview and his/her candidature for the post will be summarily rejected and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
Note: Any change in category will not be entertained in future and the candidature of such candidate would be cancelled.
(i) Candidates will be required to produce the original certificates when called for local language test/interview.
(ii) Candidates already in Government service must obtain approval/permission before registration and submit ‘NOC’ from the employer at the time of interview.
(iii) Candidates who have appeared in Matriculation or other equivalent examination and whose results have not been declared by the closing date need not apply.
(iv) Correspondence with reference to the admission to the test will not be entertained.

* FOR NON-ITI: TRADES OF NON-ITI CANDIDATES WILL BE ALLOTED ON THE BASIS OF MERIT POSITION OF THE CANDIDATES, DRAWN THROUGH THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION Vis-à-vis AVAILABLE VACANCIES IN VARIOUS TRADES OF THE FACTORY
HOW TO APPLY: 1. Candidate must apply ‘online’ through Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) website http://ofb.gov.in . After submission of the ‘on-line’ application , the applicant should take a print of the application form, as submitted through ‘on-line’, affix recent colour passport size photograph, sign and put left thumb impression in the specified place and send to the concerned Ordnance Factory, where he/she intends to apply. The hard copy of the application must be supported with the following documents –
i. Copy of educational qualification, SC/ST/PH (PC) certificates
ii. Document of Age proof
iii. IPO of Rs. 30/-, in favor of the Sr.GM/GM of the Ord. Fy. where the candidate has applied for.
Note :
i. Candidates belonging to SC/ST or PH(PC) category are exempted from submitting IPO.
ii. Copy of educational qualification, Age proof, SC/ST/PH (PC) certificates & Photograph of the candidate must be attested by any Central / State Govt. Gazetted officer or any other competent authority, as per Govt. rule.
Iii. The application form will contain a unique sl. no. It is advised that the applicant should keep a copy the application form with him/her which may be required while downloading ‘Admit card’.
2. On receipt of the duly filled hard copy of application forms from the applicants and after scrutinizing, Admit Card for all the valid candidates will be uploaded in to Ordnance Factory Board website http://ofb.gov.in by Ordnance Factory Board. Applicants will be able to ‘down load’ their respective Admit Card by feeding the unique sl. no. as given in the application form, as described in Note:-iii above. The applicant should affix the recent colour passport size photograph (same as already affixed in the hard copy of application and submitted in the respective Ordnance Factory) on Admit-card.
SELECTION OF CANDIDATES WILL BE MADE BASED ON FACTORY-WISE MERIT POSITION , AVAILABLE VACANCY , SCRUTINY OF ORIGINAL COPY OF CREDENTIALS, CLEAR P V R & MEDICAL TEST.
DURATION OF TRAINING:
For non-ITI & ITI Candidates: Duration of Training period will be as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 & Disabilities Act, 1995. However, for ex-ITI candidates, training period will be reduced by the period the Candidate have underwent training at ITI in respective trade.
STANDARD OF PHYSICAL FITNESS: As per the Apprentices Act, 1961 & Disabilities Act, 1995.
STIPEND:- During the 1st year of training, Rs.1490/- per month
During the 2nd year of training, Rs.1700/- per month
During the 3rd year of training, Rs.1970/- per month
During the 4th year of training, Rs. 2220/- per month
(Ref. As per The Gazette notification of India, G.S.R. 838(E), Part-II-Section 3-Sub-section(i) Dtd. October 18, 2010 and as amended from time to time)
No other allowances will be paid during the entire period of Apprenticeship training. However, in case of Ex-ITI candidates, period of training already undergone by them will be considered for the purpose of determining the stipend
RESERVATION FOR SC/ST/OBC & PH(PC) CANDIDATES :
As per the relevant schedule in the Rules under the Apprentice Act’1961 & Disability Act’1995 & existing Govt. Rules.
EXAMINATION: Examination will be on the basis of the following - • For non-ITI Candidates: Written Test (One paper of 3 hours duration ) consisting of - English, General Knowledge, Mathematics and Aptitude/ Reasoning.
• For ITI Candidate: Written Test (One paper consisting with 02 Parts of 3 hours duration ) – Part (A): English, General Knowledge, Mathematics and Aptitude / Reasoning - approx. 40% out of total no. of questions Part (B): On the group of subject Trades - approx. 60% out of total no. of questions.
MODE OF EXAMINATION: Examination will be conducted on ‘Multiple choice Objective Type Test’ on OMR sheet. .
MEDICAL EXAMINATION: Will be conducted by respective Factory (for all selected candidates).
DATE , TIME & VENUE OF EXAMINATION: Will be communicated through Admit Card.
T E R M S :
The selected candidates will have to execute a Contract (if minor, by his/her guardian). The Apprentices will not be provided with any quarters/hostel accommodation by the Ordnance Factories. During the training, the Apprentices are entitled for FREE MEDICAL treatment from respective Factory Hospital only.
OFFER & ACCEPTANCE OF EMPLOYMENT:
It shall not be obligatory on the part of the Employer to offer any employment to any Apprentice after completion of training, nor shall it be obligatory for the Apprentices to accept any employment, if offered by the Employer. The candidates are advised to get themselves familiarized with the Rules and Regulation under the Apprentice Act, 1961 & Disabilities Act, 1995.
